Angry Birds Rio Soars to 10 Million Downloads

Onward Angry Birds Rio, the exotic brand-new adventures of a bunch of irate avians that just flew past 10 meg downloads. If they had legs, they'd probably be dance on the sand.

Rovio's latest physical science puzzler for iPhone, iPad, and Mechanical man versatile devices surpassed 10 one thousand thousand downloads just 10 years aft information technology debuted on Demonstrate 22, according to the developer's formalized Twitter account. The company too claimed that figure makes IT (another) record-breaker.

If you bring heavenward Apple's App Store on your iPhone, you'll find the $0.99 game in first place with over 13,000 user ratings averaging a solid five out of quint stars. It knocked Andrews Illiger's surprisal hit Tiny Wings from its brief stay atop the charts and over to second place, ahead of the original Angry Birds, which now slots third.

If you hadn't heard, Rio's also the discover of an upcoming lively film, which sounds a good deal unlike the "pigs poached their egg" Angry Birds shtick. That's because the movie's by Wild blue yonder Studios (Ice Age, Horton Hears a Who!) and it's been in the offing for years–the first film teaser hit nearly a twelvemonth ago.

Rovio class of slid in for some last minute drafting and cross-content stuff, including a loosely connected story in which the birds are on the run for Blu and Jewel, a twosome of rare macaws that headline the film.
